Allison and Scott are a great couple. I did their engagement session a while back and just recently photographed their wedding at Spinelli’s Vistro in Boerne, TX. The venue was very nice and comfortable with that great rustic feel that Boerne is known for. I loved the bright colors of the ladies, and the gentleman were all very sharply uniformed. Everyone was extremely happy and fun times were had by all in attendance, definitely a joyous occasion and I was glad to get to record it all with my camera for Allison and Scott. Cheers to you guys!!!

I have been getting all these really interesting Groom’s cakes lately and will have to do a post just on those to let you guys see how creative these cakes can get. This one is up there.

I’m telling you I love detail shots, and always take a lot of them.

They had a great first dance. In fact, dancing was a large part of the night, which makes the party all the merrier.

This is just one of those candid grab shots that I love soooo much. The bridesmaid in the shot is the Groom’s sister, which explains the choke hold (As a brother myself I can attest that said choke hold was warranted and deserved)

Wedding :: San Antonio Botanical Gardens

Had a great time with this couple a few weekends ago and I really enjoyed photographing their wedding. Sam and Natasha looked great for their wedding and picked some really neat spots for each part of it. Since I was shooting along with Mel of Other than Roses, I shot the guys and she shot the girls. The guys were staying at the Aloft Hotel, which turned out to be a great place to shoot group shots as you’ll see. The ceremony at the Botanical Gardens was by the lake and the reception at the Auld House.

The guys really knew how to work the camera. And check out that bar!!!

I like doing little sequences like this. Not only do they show the action of the day, but they also look really nice when used in album layouts.

On a final note, any recent visitors confused about an Austin wedding photographer only posting work from San Antonio, don’t worry. This is the result of recently moving and doing all the weddings booked a long time ago. There will be plenty of Austin related wedding and portrait photography to show in the coming months, I promise.

Wedding :: San Antonio :: Steph and Brian

This is a back-post from “ye olde blogge”. There are a couple of weddings from there that I want to bring over to this blog and a bridal or two before I one day remove the links to it. I love my new blog, WordPress for the win!

It was a great wedding that we photographed in the springtime in San Antonio. Steph and Brian were loads of fun and the whole party was glowing. Definitely a grand time and we look forward to seeing them again in the mountains one day.

I really liked Steph’s dress. It was very unique and beautiful. Along with the hat below it was a great look.

It’s these little things we catch at weddings that I really love.

Such a fun a lively group of youngsters.

By far and away the coolest groom’s cake I have ever seen, ever!

I had been wanting to do this shot for a while now just never had the right circumstances. I love it!

Engagement :: Allison and Scott :: Boerne

I had a lovely time yesterday hanging out with Allison and Scott for a few hours in Boerne for their engagement photo session. I will be photographing their wedding in September here in Boerne as well. I look forward to sharing in their Hill Country Wedding.

As always, the great old time textures of pressed tin and clapboard siding made for some fun photography. I hit up a lot of my favorite spots in that town and we got some good images from the day. Enjoy the photos everybody.

P.S. Anyone considering engagement photos should really consider a little road trip to one of these great hill country towns. They are all different, but all kinda the same too. The best times for these types of photo shoots is morning or evening, spring or fall. Shoot me a line if your looking for ideas for a great rustic Texas photo shoot.
